Job summary

Agrifutures is seeking a Payroll Manager to join the Lower North Shore team. You will support the payroll of facilities and corporate staff, ensuring adherence to relevant awards and EBAs, and oversee end-to-end Australian payroll.

Key responsibilities include processing time sheets, staff movements, leave, and payroll reporting; acting as SME for Australia payroll projects; and leading payroll testing, go-live, and stabilization with a focus on compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
• Experience with end-to-end Australian payroll processes.
• Knowledge of EBAs and Awards in Australia.
• Proficiency with payroll reporting and reconciliations.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly time sheets and reconcile reports.
• Handle staff movements including starters and departures.
• Process bonuses and salary sacrifices; ensure accurate payments.
• Approve all leave types per company policies.
• Prepare manual payments when required.
• Respond to payroll queries via face-to-face, phone or email.
• Apply payroll knowledge and company policies to provide quality responses.
• Assist Finance with queries and reports.
• Apply knowledge of awards and EBAs to end-to-end payroll.
• Act as Payroll SME for Australia payroll projects.
• Lead payroll workstreams from testing through go-live and stabilization.
• Ensure payroll requirements and controls are reflected in project design.

Our client is lookingfor a dilligent Payroll Manager to join a dynamic team on the Lower North Shore. Reporting into HR, the purpose of the role is to support the payroll team by process and pay facilities and corporate staff, support and ensure adherence to all relevant awards, agreements and status related topayment of employees. You will also be responsible for integration and Payroll UAT testing and managing the end to end Australian payroll.

The responsibilities

• Process fortnightly time sheets, including administration of fortnightly reports and reconciliation.
• Process staff movements including new starters, departures and other movements
• Process bonuses and salary sacrifice requests, and checking to ensure payments have been made accurately
• Approve all leave types (applying company's policies and processes)
• Preparing manual payments when required
• Respond to all customer queries (face to face, telephone, email)
• Apply payroll knowledge, knowledge of company policies and procedures and problem-solving skills to provide a quality response
• Assisting Finance team on queries and reports
• Apply knowledge of awards and EBA's to the end to end payroll process
• Act as Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Australia payroll project.
• Lead payroll workstream activities from testing through go-live and stabilization.
• Ensure payroll requirements, controls, and compliance obligations are reflected in project design and implementation.

The successful applicant:

• Prior experience in a high-volume payroll environment
• Thoroughly understands the end to end payroll process
• Knowledge of Chris21/Ichris or Oracle payroll system
• Experience preparing payroll reports and reconciliations
• Experience with a wide range ofEBAs and Awards, strong knowledge in this area
• Intermediate excel skills (V-lookups, Pivot tables)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, able to promote Payroll best practice.
