Job summary

St Basil's Homes NSW/ACT, based at our Head Office in Burwood, seeks an experienced Payroll Coordinator to oversee payroll operations across a complex multi-site aged care organisation. You will coordinate, validate and administer payroll activities within an outsourced model, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing.

Working with the CFO, HR and external payroll providers, you will lead and develop the Payroll/Accounts Officer, contribute to governance, reporting and process

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience across multi-site aged care
• Experience with outsourced payroll models
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
• Experience preparing payroll reconciliations, reporting and submissions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
• Experience coordinating payroll activities and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Payroll/Accounts Officer
• Coordinate fortnightly payroll processing through ADP
• Review and reconcile payroll outcomes before CFO approval
• Prepare payroll variance reports and payroll approval packs
• Manage payroll compliance obligations including STP and year-end reconciliations
• Administer salary packaging arrangements
• Coordinate Long Service Leave reporting and statutory obligations
• Support employment lifecycle changes and payroll enquiries

Based at our Head Office in Burwood, this is an excitingopportunity for an experienced payroll professional to coordinate payrolloperations across a complex, multi-site aged care organisation while providingleadership, support and continuous improvement within the payroll function.

About the Role

As the Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible forcoordinating, validating, reviewing and administering payroll activities acrossSt Basil's Homes under an outsourced payroll model.

Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, HumanResources, Finance and external payroll providers, you will ensure all payrolltransactions are accurate, compliant and processed in accordance withlegislative and organisational requirements. You will also provide supervisionand support to the Payroll/ Accounts Officer while contributing to payrollgovernance, reporting and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervisingand supporting the Payroll/Accounts Officer, including coaching, trainingand workload coordination
• Coordinatingfortnightly payroll processing through ADP
• Reviewing,validating and reconciling payroll outcomes before CFO approval
• Preparingpayroll variance reports, reconciliations and payroll approval packs forCFO review
• Managingpayroll compliance obligations, including Single Touch Payroll (STP),PayDay Super and year-end payroll reconciliations
• Administeringsalary packaging arrangements through SmartSalary
• CoordinatingPortable Long Service Leave reporting, reconciliations and statutoryobligations
• ManagingWorkers Compensation payroll activities, reimbursements and payrolladjustments
• Supportingemployment lifecycle changes including new starters, employment statuschanges and terminations
• Preparingworkforce service records, employment verification documentation andnursing pay progression reviews
• Actingas a key point of contact for payroll enquiries from managers andemployees
• Maintainingpayroll data integrity, governance and compliance with legislative andindustrial requirements
• Identifyingopportunities to improve payroll systems, reporting and operationalprocesses

About You

You are an experienced payroll professional with exceptionalattention to detail, strong analytical skills and a commitment to deliveringaccurate and compliant payroll services. You are confident managing payrollprocesses in a complex environment and enjoy building positive relationshipswith stakeholders across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimumthree years' end-to-end payroll experience
• Experienceworking within an outsourced payroll environment
• Strongknowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experiencepreparing payroll reconciliations, reporting and statutory submissions
• Stronganalytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Excellentverbal and written communication skills
