Job summary

DXC Technology Australia & New Zealand is seeking a seasoned Payments Principal to lead development and delivery of strategic payments consulting across AU/NZ financial services. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior banking executives, guiding modernization of payments capabilities, navigating regulatory changes, and driving growth through high-value engagements.

The role combines advisory leadership with payments domain expertise, technology transformation, and business development.

Qualifications

15+ years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, payments technology or consulting.
Proven expertise across payments domains including real-time, clearing, settlement or cross-border.
Experience leading payments transformation and strategic advisory engagements.
Strong understanding of the Australian payments landscape (NPP, AP+, ISO 20022).
Experience engaging senior banking executives and influencing technology and investment decisions.
Ability to shape opportunities and support business development activities.
Strong understanding of payments architectures, APIs and modern banking platforms.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across business, architecture and delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic advisory engagements covering enterprise payments strategy and transformation roadmaps.
Advise on real-time payments, payments orchestration and digital wallets.
Develop business cases and transformation plans balancing customer experience, regulatory compliance and value.
Oversee payments architecture, integration patterns and platform selection.
Provide independent assurance and guidance on major payments programs.
Identify delivery risks and mitigation strategies.
Engage senior executives through workshops, strategy sessions and briefings.
Drive revenue, bookings and margin objectives through advisory services.
Mentor consultants and develop reusable frameworks and methodologies.
