Monash Health is seeking a Patient Services Assistant to join the Victorian Heart Hospital in Clayton on a part-time, ongoing basis. The role involves supporting clinical teams with patient care, cleaning, and safe handling of equipment within a busy hospital environment.

Mandatory qualification is Certificate III in Health Services Assistance. Opportunities include various shifts, with a focus on safety, teamwork, and compassionate patient support in a leading public health service in Victoria.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient services within hospital, aged care or cleaning settings.
• Strong knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices.
• Passion for patient care, consistently demonstrating respect and empathy.
• Reliable and punctual team member with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills to support daily tasks and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Committed to following manual handling, safety protocols and procedural instructions.

Responsabilités

• Daily ward cleaning, discharge room cleans, and unscheduled cleans
• Patient transfers using equipment such as hoists, slides, bed movers and wheelchairs
• Ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols at all times.
• Bed making and discharge cleans
• Mortuary transfers
• Ward equipment, cleaning and transferring
• Supporting clinical staff with patient care tasks as directed
• Physical work including lifting and manual handling
