Job summary

Eastern Health is hiring Patient Services Assistants to support patient care at Box Hill Hospital. Roles include patient transport, clinical support, bed making, cleaning, food service and equipment movement across sites.

We offer permanent part-time roles with 16–32 hours per week, including nights and weekends. Successful candidates will hold a Certificate III in Health Services Assistant and can work well autonomously as part of a diverse team.

About the role

The Patient Services Assistant role offers a variety of responsibilities that may differ across sites, including patient transport, clinical support, bed making, cleaning services, food service, equipment movement, and restocking supplies, all contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

We have multiple permanent time vacancies at Box Hill Hospital supporting our patients on night duty, weekends and days. Contracts can vary from 16 hours to 32 hours per week. We are seeking committed professionals and we can support the successful incumbents to fill a vacancy suitable thier lifestyle.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Certificate III in Health Services Assistant
• Ability to work autonomously & physically fit
• Experience using various equipment including bed movers, wheelchairs and trolleys desirable
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Availability to work across nights and weekends highly desirable

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in theAustralian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
