Job summary

NSW Health's Westmead Hospital seeks a Patient Liaison Officer to assess admissions and determine the appropriate financial classification, ensuring revenue processes are accurate, timely and compliant with NSW Health requirements.

You will support patients, clinical teams and staff across the hospital, provide clear advice on classifications and private health insurance, and contribute to revenue maximisation through on-site training and guidance.

Qualifications

• Assess admissions and determine financial classifications to ensure revenue processes are accurate, timely and NSW Health compliant.
• Provide clear advice about financial classifications, private health insurance and healthcare costs to patients.
• Use revenue and billing systems to identify opportunities, maintain accurate records and support revenue maximisation.

Responsibilities

• Assess Emergency Department, planned and direct ward admissions including MVA, DVA, workers compensation, overseas and Defence classifications.
• Interview patients and provide clear advice about financial classifications and costs.
• Manage admission documentation, certificates, fund checks and claims information.
• Provide on-site training and guidance to staff and the PLO team.
• Support changing operational needs across the hospital environment.
