Job summary

NSW Health in Newcastle is seeking a Nurse Manager Grade 3 to lead the Patient Flow Unit at John Hunter Hospital, coordinating district-wide inter-hospital transfers to move patients safely and efficiently.

You will provide clinical leadership, support bed management, and liaise with hospital teams, NSW Ambulance and executive leaders across the district. A structured orientation and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in clinical leadership or management.
• Current registration as an RN with AHPRA and authority to practise.
• Experience in patient flow or inter-hospital transfers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate district-wide patient transfers to support safe, timely and efficient flow.
• Provide clinical advice and act as central contact for referrals and transfers.
• Monitor barriers to access and work to minimise transfer delays.
• Collaborate with hospital teams and executive leaders across the district.
• Lead and support a small team of Nurse Managers.
