Job summary

Healthscope’s Norwest Private Hospital is seeking a Quality and Risk Coordinator to place patients at the centre of every decision and improvement. You will lead governance and risk frameworks, collaborating with clinical teams to ensure safe, high‑quality care across the hospital.

The role requires advocating for patient needs, driving a culture of safety, and aligning policies with NSQHS standards while supporting a comprehensive incident investigation process and ongoing performance

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Tertiary qualifications in health, clinical governance, quality or risk management (or working towards).
• Demonstrated experience in healthcare quality and risk portfolios.
• Strong communication with empathy to ensure patients and families feel heard.
• Working knowledge of NSQHS Standards and accreditation frameworks.
• Strong data analysis and incident-review skills with stakeholder engagement.
• Acute hospital clinical experience (e.g., critical care, perioperative, general medical/surgery).

Responsibilities

• Lead governance and risk frameworks to support safe, high-quality care.
• Advocate for patient needs and promote a culture of safety.
• Collaborate with clinical managers, executives, and staff to improve outcomes.
• Ensure policies align with NSQHS and accreditation requirements.
• Conduct hospital rounding and targeted audits to identify gaps.
• Investigate incidents including Serious Adverse Event Reviews and learnings.
