CMV Truck & Bus in Melbourne seeks a Parts Interpreter to guide customers, technicians and colleagues to the right parts solutions. Reporting to the Parts Department Manager, you will source, process and dispatch parts accurately while supporting retail, wholesale and internal customers.

Interpret catalogues, manage orders and quotations, and maintain CRM records. A customer‑focused mindset, good communication and a reliable team approach are essential; rotating Saturday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Parts Interpreter (commercial vehicle experience preferred).
• Strong customer service mindset and problem solving.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Sound computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Reliable, organised and team-focused approach.
• Current manual driver's licence; forklift licence advantageous.

About the Role

As a Parts Interpreter, you'll be the go-to expert for customers, technicians and colleagues seeking the right parts solutions. Reporting to the Parts Department Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting retail, wholesale and internal customers while ensuring parts are sourced, processed and delivered accurately and efficiently. No two days are the same. One minute you'll be assisting a customer with a parts enquiry, the next you'll be sourcing components, managing orders or supporting workshop operations.

A little about what you will be doing

• Providing expert parts advice and solutions
• Managing retail, wholesale and internal sales enquiries
• Following up customer back orders
• Picking parts for counter sales and workshop requirements
• Promoting specials and identifying upselling opportunities
• Maintaining customer information within the CRM system
• Interpreting parts catalogues and manuals
• Sourcing parts from manufacturers and suppliers
• Coordinating the timely dispatch of parts orders
• Processing parts orders and quotations accurately
• Maintaining documentation and records
• Monitoring distributor updates and bulletins
• Recording lost sales and identifying improvement opportunities

To be successful in this role you'll ideally have:

• Experience as a Parts Interpreter (commercial vehicle experience highly regarded)
• A strong customer service mindset
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Sound computer skills and confidence learning new systems
• A reliable, organised and team-oriented approach
• Current manual driver's licence
• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Availability to participate in a rotating Saturday morning roster
