Job summary

Rentco Transport Equipment Rentals is seeking a Parts Interpreter to keep our workshop and fleet online by ensuring parts availability, accuracy in inventory, and proactive support to mechanics and operations teams.

You will drive stock levels, manage procurement, and maintain organised stores across multiple locations, providing timely parts advice and building strong supplier partnerships to optimise pricing and delivery times.

Qualifications

About the Role

As a Parts Interpreter, you will play a key role in keeping our workshop operating efficiently by ensuring parts availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting our workshop team.

You Will:

• Stay ahead of demand by managing stock levels and ordering requirements to ensure critical parts are available when needed.
• Support workshop operations by providing timely parts advice and assistance to mechanics, fabricators, and management.
• Take ownership of the parts store by maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient environment.
• Build strong supplier relationships to achieve the best pricing, availability, and turnaround times.
• Manage inventory processes including purchase orders, receipting, invoicing, stock control, and regular stocktakes.
• Source solutions quickly by managing backorders, identifying alternative suppliers, and minimising equipment downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and communication across the business.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure inventory data is up to date across multiple branch locations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience as a Parts Interpreter, preferably within the transport, heavy vehicle, trailer, earthmoving, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of semi-trailer and prime mover parts.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong computer literacy and experience using parts management and inventory systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and sourcing hard-to-find parts.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• A collaborative team-focused attitude with the confidence to build effective working relationships.
• A current driver's licence.
• A current Forklift Licence
