Job description

Help shape the future of community cricket across Victoria!

At Cricket Victoria, we're passionate about more than just cricket. We're about bringing people together, creating opportunities and making our sport accessible to communities across the state.

We're looking for a Participation Strategy Lead to join our Community Cricket team and help grow participation, strengthen our programs and create more opportunities for Victorians to get involved in cricket.

Working closely with our Customer Experience team, Cricket Australia and community stakeholders, you'll play an important role in shaping how we deliver and grow participation programs, including Woolworths Cricket Blast and Smash Series.

This is a role for someone who enjoys the bigger picture but isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You'll use data, insights and strong relationships to identify opportunities, improve the participant experience and turn great ideas into practical outcomes.

The Role

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive the growth and continuous improvement of participation programs across Victoria, making cricket more accessible, engaging and enjoyable.
  • Identify new opportunities to connect communities with cricket, building on the excitement of the Big Bash and international cricket.
  • Work collaboratively with our CX team, schools, clubs and local cricket associations to strengthen participation pathways and encourage ongoing involvement in the game.
  • Build strong relationships with Cricket Managers, Cricket Australia and other key stakeholders to align priorities and support local participation outcomes.
  • Use participation data, community feedback and insights to identify trends, address challenges and inform strategic decisions.
  • Support the coordination of program budgets, funding and resources to ensure effective and sustainable delivery.
  • Find smarter ways of working by improving processes, streamlining systems and reducing unnecessary administration.
About You

We're looking for someone who can think strategically, build meaningful relationships and bring ideas to life.

You'll bring:

  • Relevant qualifications or substantial experience in sport, strategy, project management, sales, education or a related field.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies that involve multiple teams or stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn information into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day delivery.
  • A current Working with Children Check (Employee), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

Experience in community sport, participation programs or large-scale program delivery would be highly regarded, as would an understanding of the cricket landscape.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about creating opportunities for people to get involved and making a positive impact across Victorian communities.

Why Join Cricket Victoria?

Cricket Victoria is one of Australia's leading sporting organisations and the proud home of Victorian cricket, including the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades.

Based at the CitiPower Centre, Junction Oval in St Kilda, you'll join a collaborative team that cares about its people, its communities and the future of the game.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact on how cricket is experienced across Victoria, working alongside people who are passionate about growing the sport.

The Benefits
  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance
  • An additional week of annual leave each year
  • Tickets to a range of sporting events (yes, including cricket!)
  • Free onsite gym access
  • Corporate health insurance offers
  • Exclusive corporate partner discounts
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive workplace culture
