Job summary

RSPCA Queensland is seeking a Project Coordinator to help deliver the Redlands Wildlife Hospital. You’ll work with the Principal Consultant and Project Manager, government stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure delivery is on schedule, on budget, and aligned with wildlife services needs.

The role blends practical coordination with relationship management, supporting design reviews, procurement, and governance.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Project Management Practice or Diploma of Project Management (essential).
• Experience coordinating medium to large capital infrastructure projects.
• Experience representing an organisation’s interests as an Owner’s Representative or in a similar delivery role.
• Sound understanding of construction project delivery, including commissioning and practical completion.
• Experience managing consultants and contractors, including procurement and contract administration.
• Strong financial skills, including budget monitoring and project reporting.
• Clear written and verbal communication for senior leaders, committees or boards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities across planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Keep scope, budget and timelines on track with the Principal Consultant and Project Manager.
• Coordinate design reviews and stakeholder input to reflect operational needs.
• Support procurement, tender evaluation and consultant/contractor appointments.
• Monitor performance against requirements and deliverables.
• Track budgets, commitments and expenditure, flag cost pressures early.
• Maintain schedules, risk registers, action registers and decision logs.
• Prepare reports, briefing papers and recommendations for sponsors and boards.
• Coordinate government funding reports and grant acquittals.
• Act as external contact with government, council and partners.
• Provide updates for fundraising and donor communications.
• Work with Wildlife Transformation Manager on equipment planning and readiness.
