Job summary

Bago Forest Quarry in Port Macquarie, NSW is hiring a Weighbridge Operator to cover an extended leave with genuine potential for an ongoing role. You will be the first point of contact for customers, weigh trucks, take bookings, and support the quarry team in a busy, friendly environment.

Part-time hours start with a training week (6:30am–12:00pm, Mon–Fri) and then shift to regular weekday afternoon hours (12:00pm–4:00pm). No prior quarry experience needed; training provided.

We're looking for a friendly, reliable and switched-on person to join our small team at Bago Forest Quarry (CTK Natural Resources) as our Weighbridge Operator. This role is needed initially to cover an extended period of leave, but for the right person there's a genuine chance it develops into a longer-term, ongoing position.

Hours and training

You'll start with about a week of on-the-job training, working:

• 6:30am – 12:00pm, Monday to Friday

After training, the role is expected to mainly cover an afternoon shift:

• 12:00pm – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Hours may vary a little depending on what's happening on site, so we'd love to hear from applicants who can offer a bit of flexibility.

About the role

You'll be based at the weighbridge/site office, right at the centre of everything that happens on site day to day. Trucks coming and going, phone calls, customers popping in to place or collect an order — you'll often be the first person our customers, truck drivers and suppliers deal with, whether that's someone who's been coming to us for years or a first-time caller trying to figure out what they need.

It's a varied role: one minute you might be weighing a truck and printing a ticket, the next you're on the phone taking a delivery booking, then helping a customer at the counter or passing on a message to the quarry crew about a load. You won't need any background in quarrying — our production team handles that side of things — but you will need to keep on top of the details, stay calm when it's busy, and make people feel looked after. It's a role where a good attitude and a friendly voice go a long way.

Previous weighbridge, admin, transport, quarry, logistics or customer service experience is a bonus, but it's not essential — we'll train the right person. What matters most to us is finding someone dependable, approachable and proactive, with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
