Job summary

Bago Forest Quarry in Port Macquarie, NSW is hiring a Weighbridge Operator to cover an extended leave with genuine potential for an ongoing role. You will be the first point of contact for customers, weigh trucks, take bookings, and support the quarry team in a busy, friendly environment.

Part-time hours start with a training week (6:30am–12:00pm, Mon–Fri) and then shift to regular weekday afternoon hours (12:00pm–4:00pm). No prior quarry experience needed; training provided.

Qualifications

• Computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Friendly, outgoing and confident dealing with people.
• Good telephone manner and communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Positive attitude, happy to take initiative.
• Comfortable working in a quarry/industrial environment.
• Able to work independently once trained.
• Keen to pitch in and be part of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Operating the weighbridge and issuing weighbridge/delivery tickets.
• Answering incoming phone calls and taking accurate messages.
• Greeting and assisting customers and truck drivers.
• Entering information accurately into our computer systems.
• General basic administration around the weighbridge.
• Communicating with quarry staff about orders and truck movements.
• Helping keep the weighbridge and office running smoothly.
• Being proactive and finding ways to help out when things are quiet.
