Catholic Education Cairns is seeking a School Counsellor for St Michael's School in Gordonvale. The role focuses on fostering student mental health and resilience through direct and indirect counselling and school-wide interventions.

Qualified professionals with Degree-level credentials in Education Psychology or Social Work are required, with teacher registration or Working with Children check as applicable. The position is permanent and part-time (3 days per week).

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications at Degree level in Education Psychology or Social Work with relevant post graduate experience
• Guidance Counsellors (Teacher) require registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and full membership of QGCA or general registration with Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) or membership with AASW
• Guidance Counsellors (Non Teacher) require general registration with Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) or membership with AASW

• Foster development, mental health and resilience of all students including at-risk and those with special needs
• Apply guidance and counselling skills through direct and indirect processes and systemic and individual interventions
