Job summary

Aspen Medical seeks a part-time Payroll Officer to join the Finance team at the Canberra Head Office. This entry-level role focuses on timely, accurate payroll processing for employees and contractors, ensuring legislative compliance and alignment with Aspen Medical’s ethical and B Corp commitments.

Key responsibilities include assisting with fortnightly payroll, reconciling superannuation, supporting year-end processes, collaborating with the Culture and Performance team, maintaining payroll

Qualifications

• Basic payroll knowledge and a willingness to further develop payroll expertise.
• Ability to interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy with figures, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fortnightly payroll processing, including data entry, leave applications, and maintaining employee payroll records.
• Processing and reconcile payday superannuation contributions.
• Support year-end reconciliations processes and preparation of reports.
• Work closely with Culture and Performance team to ensure payroll actions align with contracts, awards, and enterprise agreements.
• Assist in maintaining payroll systems and reports, while supporting process improvements.
• Build positive relationships with employees, contractors, and stakeholders, and support audits to ensure compliance.
• Basic Payroll knowledge and a willingness to further develop payroll expertise.
• Ability to interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy with figures, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality.
• Desirable: experience in the health industry and/or using Access Micropay.
