Job summary

Challenger Services Group is seeking a meticulous Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a part-time basis (4 days per week) in Sydney. You will handle payroll processing, data verification, and maintenance of employee records for a diverse workforce across multiple service industries.

The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with awards and legislation, and collaboration with Operations and People & Culture teams to support payroll changes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and awards.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, data-driven.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time.
• Verify timesheet data for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain employee records and ensure payroll information is current.
• Respond to payroll enquiries relating to leave balances, adjustments, terminations, and pay matters.
• Work with Operations and People & Culture teams on employee changes and payroll updates.
• Assist with payroll reporting, superannuation, payroll tax, and leave reconciliations.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling employee information.
