Job summary

Mounties Care Freshwater Health Clinic is a friendly, community-focused general practice in Freshwater, NSW. We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist for a permanent part-time role, working 2 days per week from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will be the first point of contact for patients and ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including appointments, billing and administrative support for doctors and nurses.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical reception is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with patient information and billing.
• Highly organised, able to multitask in a busy environment.
• Discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner.
• Managing appointments, patient enquiries and phone calls.
• Coordinating patient check-ins/outs and maintaining schedules.
• Processing private billing, Medicare claims and patient payments accurately.
• Assisting with MyMedicare registrations and eligibility checks.
• Maintaining accurate patient records in practice management systems.
• Managing recalls, reminders, correspondence and medical records requests.
• Scanning, filing and distributing patient documentation and emails.
• Supporting doctors and nurses with a range of admin tasks.
• Maintaining a clean, organised reception and waiting area.
• Ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with policies.
