Job summary

Open Minds is seeking a part-time Peer Worker in Lismore, NSW, to deliver person-centred mental health support within Medicare Mental Health Services. You will draw on your lived experience to connect with diverse individuals, promote recovery, and work within a trauma-informed framework.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintain accurate records, participate in community outreach, and access ongoing professional development and employee assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Current Blue Card.
• Current National Police Check.
• Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Connect and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Utilise lived experience to advocate for consumers and the voice of lived experience.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local service providers and community programs.
• Maintain accurate and compliant service records and up-to-date databases.
• Uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries.
