Job summary

Mid North Coast Local Health District seeks an Aboriginal Peer Worker to support clients using our mental health services. You will draw on lived experience to build rapport, promote hope, and ensure culturally safe care pathways across multiple locations.

A Certificate IV in Peer Work - Mental Health is preferred, with strong documentation and communication skills and willingness to travel. You must be an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, committed to peer support

Qualifications

• Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent required.
• Willing to undertake Certificate IV in Peer Work - Mental Health or have completed it.
• Strong commitment to peer support principles and culturally safe care.

Responsibilities

• Support Aboriginal consumers using mental health services with lived experience.
• Build rapport and promote hope for individuals navigating their journey.
• Ensure care pathways are culturally appropriate and support access to services.
• Travel across multiple locations as required and maintain documentation.
