Job summary

St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland is seeking a Crisis Support Worker to provide end-to-end case management and advocacy across Housing and Homelessness services in Ipswich. You will support clients from intake through exit, using Specialist Homelessness databases to coordinate referrals and maintain confidentiality.

The role requires a Certificate III in Community Services or related field, experience in homelessness support, and a commitment to helping clients access stable accommodation

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Community Services or related field.
• Knowledge of legislation and guidelines relating to specialist homelessness services.
• Experience as a Support Worker or in homelessness sector.
• Ability to advocate for clients and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Respect for all people irrespective of situation.
• Understanding of risk management and WHS legislation.
• Blue Card current or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support from intake to exit.
• Deliver holistic case management, advice, referrals and advocacy using Specialist Homelessness databases.
• Assist clients who are homeless or at risk to access safe, affordable, and stable accommodation.
• Work with families and individuals with complex needs to improve tenancy outcomes.
• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
