Minor Hotels’ Oaks Cairns Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook to join the kitchen team on a part-time basis. You will prepare ingredients, cook a range of dishes, and ensure high presentation and WHS compliance.

The role requires at least 12 months of kitchen experience, strong teamwork, and a passion for cooking. Shifts cover breakfast and dinner, 20+ hours weekly, with potential extra hours. Competitive hourly rates apply, with weekend premiums.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with WHS requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
