Minor Hotels, owner of Oaks Cairns Hotel, seeks a skilled Cook to join the kitchen team on a part-time basis. The role involves preparing and cooking meals to high standards and delivering a quality guest dining experience.

Immediate start and a rotating schedule across breakfast and dinner are included. Candidates should have 12+ months cooking experience, knowledge of cooking methods, strong teamwork, and a flexible attitude to shifts including weekends and public holidays.

• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.

Job Description

Oaks Cairns Hotel are looking for skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods
• Part-time position, minimum 20 hours per week. Additional hours may be available.
• Immediate start available

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $27.08 per hour Saturday: $33.85 per hour Sunday: $40.62 per hour
