Job summary

Swan Hill Shire Council is seeking an Events and Development Officer for maternity relief, delivering events and development initiatives across the municipality. The role coordinates event management, supports community and commercial organisers, and contributes to economy and wellbeing.

We require qualifications in event management or related field, experience in events, and strong organisation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in event management, marketing, community or economic development or related field (certificate or diploma level) or equivalent experience.
• Experience planning, coordinating or supporting events.
• Well-organised with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
• Satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Council’s event management processes and act as the key contact for community, commercial and public event organisers.
• Provide practical advice to ensure events are safe, compliant and successful.
• Support community groups to plan and deliver events.
• Assist with coordination of Council-led events and administration of the Event Support Fund.
• Support delivery of community-based public art projects and associated events.
