Job summary

Swan Hill Rural City Council in Swan Hill VIC is seeking a motivated Events and Development Officer for a casual/temporary part-time maternity relief role. You will support delivery of events and development initiatives across the municipality.

This hands-on role coordinates event management, advises organisers on safety and compliance, supports community groups, and collaborates with internal teams to strengthen the local economy and community wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Has qualifications in event management, marketing, community or economic development or a related field (certificate or diploma level), or equivalent experience
• Experience planning, coordinating or supporting events
• Experience in local government is desirable but not essential
• Satisfactory National Police Check
• Working with Children Check (employee)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Council’s event management processes and act as the key contact for community, commercial and public event organisers
• Provide practical advice and guidance to ensure events are safe, compliant and successful
• Support community groups to plan and deliver great events
• Assist with the coordination of Council-led events and administration of the Event Support Fund
• Support the planning and delivery of community-based public art projects and associated events
