Job summary

Mercure in Western Australia is seeking a passionate Part Time Commis Chef to join our hotel kitchen team, supporting breakfast, lunch and dinner service and helping to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

You will work under the guidance of senior chefs in a fast-paced Accor F&B operation, applying a range of cooking techniques, maintaining high food safety standards and clean, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment.
• Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
• Exemplary communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP understanding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items with variety and flair within hotel cost margins.
• Maintain stock rotation and minimize wastage with stock control procedures.
• Keep kitchens clean; wash dishes and ensure equipment is maintained and serviced.
• Report problems to the Head Chef promptly.
