Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Aboriginal Mental Health and Wellbeing Peer Support Worker (Health Education Officer Graduate/Non Graduate) at the Concord Centre for Mental Health. This permanent, full-time role uses lived experience to support consumer recovery and spans four key areas of wellbeing and community connection.

Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and meet the criteria for graduate rate if holding a relevant degree; vaccination is required under policy.

Qualifications

• This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position requiring Aboriginal descent and community acceptance.
• Personal experience of mental distress with recovery principles is preferred; degree in a relevant field affects graduate rate.
• Understanding of social and emotional well-being, family and kinship structures, and Aboriginal culture is important.
