Sydney Local Health District invites applications for a Peer Support Worker at the Concord Centre for Mental Health, a purpose-built unit within NSW Health. The role focuses on peer-led support to guide consumers through recovery, housing, employment and education access, and community connections as part of a structured care model.

Ideal candidates bring lived experience of mental distress, understanding of Aboriginal culture, and a commitment to person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Personal experience of mental distress and demonstrated experience using recovery principles.
• A degree in a relevant field is required for payment at Graduate rate.
• Understanding of social and emotional well-being, family and kinship structures, and Aboriginal culture and wisdom, and the unique challenges Aboriginal consumers may experience in accessing the service.
