Job summary

M & H Construction Vic Pty Ltd in Lavington, NSW is seeking an experienced Painter to join our team on residential and commercial projects. You’ll handle surface preparation through to final finish, working in a small, hands-on environment.

The ideal candidate has Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or 1–2 years of painting experience, a keen eye for detail, and a valid White Card. Driver’s licence is preferred; enjoy steady work and opportunities to grow with the business.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or 1–2 years’ painting experience required.
• Good knowledge of paints, coatings and surface preparation methods.
• Attention to detail and ability to finish with high quality.
• Ability to work independently or in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and holes, and removing old paint.
• Apply primers, sealers, undercoats and finish coats using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
• Select and mix paints to match colours and meet job specifications.
• Paint interior and exterior walls, ceilings, doors, trims and fixtures.
• Protect surrounding areas and clean up the site after work.
• Set up and safely use ladders, scaffolding and painting equipment.
• Estimate materials and time needed for each job.
• Follow workplace health and safety standards at all times.
• Work with builders and other trades to meet project timelines.
