Job summary

Pandher Painting Services is seeking a Painter to join its Corio, Victoria team on a full-time basis. You will prepare, paint and finish interior and exterior surfaces for residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality results.

Job Description

Pandher Painting Services Pty Ltd About the Role Pandher Painting Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Painter to join its team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, painting and finishing a variety of interior and exterior surfaces across residential and commercial projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Erect scaffolding and ladders where required and place drop sheets and other protective coverings to protect surrounding areas. Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, wallpaper and other existing finishes. Clean, scrape, sand and smooth surfaces in preparation for painting and decorating.

Fill holes and cracks and repair minor surface defects to achieve an appropriate finish. Seal and prepare surfaces using primers, undercoats and other suitable materials. Select appropriate paints, varnishes, stains and other finishing products according to the surface and project requirements.

Mix and prepare paints to achieve required colours, shades and consistency using pigments, oils, thinners and drying additives where appropriate. Apply paints, varnishes, stains and other coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment. Apply multiple coats where necessary to achieve consistent coverage and a durable professional finish.

Measure, cut, match and hang wallpaper and other decorative wall coverings where required. Inspect completed work to ensure surfaces meet the required quality and finishing standards. Clean brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other painting tools after use and maintain equipment in good working condition.

Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas throughout each project. Follow workplace health and safety procedures when handling paints, chemicals, ladders, scaffolding and other equipment. Undertake minor associated work, including repairing windows or replacing glass in wooden or metal frames, where required.

Skills and Requirements

Relevant qualification in Painting and Decorating, preferably an AQF Certificate III or equivalent , or relevant industry experience consistent with the requirements of the occupation. Relevant practical experience as a Painter or Painting Trades Worker. Experience undertaking residential and/or commercial painting work.

Strong knowledge of surface preparation, painting and finishing techniques. Competency in using brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment. Ability to select, prepare, mix and colour-match paints and coatings.

Ability to identify surface defects and undertake appropriate preparation and minor repairs before painting. Ability to work safely with ladders, scaffolding and other access equipment. Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality finishes. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Good organisational and time‑management skills.

Ability to complete assigned work according to project specifications and deadlines. Relevant registration or licensing where required.
