PPG’s Morningside Office in Brisbane seeks a hands-on operations specialist to provide technical and training support across the customer production environment, focusing on repairing processes, paint mixing, and site throughput.

The role emphasizes training, equipment maintenance, and adherence to LEAN processes, with on-site responsibilities and potential for professional growth within a global coatings leader.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5+ years of hands-on experience in a high-volume vehicle repair environment.
• Experience with process-driven environments.
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of business.
• Ability to enforce process is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Understanding of labour productivity and profitability.
• Sound planning, time management and organisational skills.
• Extensive knowledge of PPG products and application systems.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles.
• Basic computer literacy, including email and standard software.
• Must hold a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Strict adherence to standardised repair process and enforce same with site staff.
• Identify and remedy on-site production bottlenecks.
• Hands on role – vehicle preparation, paint mixing, paint application.
• Ongoing equipment maintenance – spray equipment, UV/IR lamps, gun-wash machines.
• Train, mentor and discipline customer paint & panel staff as required.
• Staff training – on-site and at training centre; assessments and pre-employment tests.
• Monthly site audits related to EHS, processes and operations.
