Job summary

Australian Vintage is seeking motivated Packaging Line Attendants to join our Merbein Packaging Winery on a permanent, full-time basis. You will help keep production lines running safely, efficiently and to a high standard in a fast-paced environment.

This on-site role suits those who enjoy practical work, teamwork and learning new skills; prior packaging experience is welcomed but not essential, and a valid driver licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and machinery following procedures and safety requirements.
• Prepare and maintain materials for production runs.
• Monitor production and record wastage.
• Manually pack and handle wine and other products.
• Clean equipment and keep a safe, tidy work area.
• Assist with stocktakes and movement of materials.
• Support food safety, quality and WHS requirements.
• Collaborate with Line Supervisors, Shift Coordinators and the Packaging team.

Australian Vintage is looking for motivated Packaging Line Attendants to join our team at the Merbein Packaging Winery on a permanent, full‑time basis.

This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy practical work, working as part of a team and being part of a fast‑paced production environment. Previous packaging or manufacturing experience is welcomed, but it is not essential. If you bring the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn, we would like to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

Working as part of our Packaging team, you will help keep our production lines running safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Your day‑to‑day work will include:

• Operating packaging equipment and machinery in accordance with procedures and safety requirements
• Preparing and maintaining materials required for production runs
• Monitoring production and recording wastage
• Manual packing and handling of wine and other company products
• Cleaning equipment and maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Assisting with stocktakes and movement of materials
• Supporting food safety, quality and WHS requirements
• Working closely with Line Supervisors, Shift Coordinators and other members of the Packaging team

Shift requirements

Our packaging operation runs across rotating shifts, so applicants must be available to work day, afternoon and night shifts. Overtime may also be offered from time to time.

This is an on‑site operational role based at our Merbein Packaging Winery and is not a hybrid or work‑from‑home position.

We are looking for:

You don’t need to know everything on day one. We are looking for people who are reliable, safety conscious and willing to learn. You will ideally bring:

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• A practical approach and good mechanical aptitude
• Strong attention to detail
• A commitment to safety, quality and getting the job done well
• Previous packaging, manufacturing or production experience, although this is not essential
• A current driver licence
• A forklift licence is desirable, but not essential

The role involves regular standing and walking, manual handling and working around production equipment. You will need to be comfortable regularly lifting and moving items up to 15kg and occasionally up to 20kg.
