Job summary

Australian Vintage is hiring Vintage Cellar Hands for the 2027 vintage at Buronga Hill Winery, near Mildura. You will join our cellar and winemaking teams to safely process wine and support production during a busy vintage season.

Previous winery experience is valued but not essential. Successful applicants will be safety‑minded, reliable, and capable of working a rotating day/evening roster with weekend shifts. Competitive casual rates apply.

Australian Vintage is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Vintage Cellar Hands to join our Vintage 2027 team at Buronga Hill Winery, just a short drive from Mildura.

Whether you have worked several vintages or this would be your first, Vintage 2027 is an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a large-scale winemaking environment, work alongside experienced people and be part of the team that brings each year’s vintage to life.

Previous wine industry experience is highly regarded, but it is not essential. If you are practical, safety conscious, enjoy working with others and are ready to learn, we encourage you to apply.

What you’ll be doing

Vintage is one of the busiest and most exciting times in a winery.

As a Vintage Cellar Hand, you will work alongside our Cellar and Winemaking teams, helping to safely process and care for wine throughout vintage.

Depending on your experience and the requirements of the winery, your work may include:

• Completing cellar operations safely, efficiently and in accordance with instructions
• Transferring wine between tanks and other vessels
• Assisting with filtration operations
• Collecting samples from wine tanks and barrels
• Making additions and gas adjustments to tanks
• Preparing wines to meet production requirements
• Monitoring wine and supporting our team to maintain wine quality
• Recording production and cellar information accurately
• Cleaning equipment and maintaining high housekeeping standards throughout cellar areas

You will receive site induction and guidance to help you work safely and confidently within our winery.

What you need to know

Vintage is a seasonal operation and requires flexibility and commitment throughout the season.

Successful applicants will need to:

• Be available to attend our mandatory Vintage induction prior to commencement
• Be available for the full Vintage period, generally around 10 to 12 weeks
• Be available to work a rotating roster across day, afternoon and night shifts, including weekends
• Have reliable transport to and from Buronga Hill Winery and hold a current drivers licence
• Meet the physical requirements of working in an operational winery environment
• Have the right to live and work in Australia

Some Vintage opportunities may extend beyond the initial Vintage period depending on operational requirements.

Competitive casual rates apply, with applicable afternoon, night shift and weekend loadings.
