Job summary

Vinarchy is recruiting casual Packaging Operators to join our Packaging Operations team based in Rowland Flat, South Australia. You will develop skills in packaging and perform a range of duties contributing to a high-quality finished product in a dynamic, supportive workplace.

You will learn to operate packaging machinery, follow safety SOPs, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers flexibility, local community engagement, and opportunities for

Qualifications

  • Essential: Suited to working in manufacturing and production operations within a large-scale industrial environment.
  • Essential: Current Drivers Licence and ability to work shift work, weekends and overtime as required.
  • Desirable: Experience in Packaging or a FMCG production environment.
  • Desirable: Basic computer literacy (Outlook, Word & Excel) and data entry in database applications.
  • Desirable: Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Desirable: High Risk Work Licence (Forklift).

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations by performing a variety of tasks aligned with training and skill level.
  • Learn to operate packaging machinery efficiently and safely, following manufacturer guidelines and procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols, SOPs, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet high standards and specifications.
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment and work areas through routine cleaning and preventative measures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through our 5 Stars program (training provided).
  • Identify and report safety hazards or incidents in line with company policies.
  • Understand production goals and contribute to improving efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and participate in team meetings and handovers.
  • Communicate issues, ideas and opportunities to the Packaging Supervisor; participate in problem solving for operational improvements.
  • Complete induction training and pursue ongoing development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and Vinarchy's QSE standards.

About the Role

  • Get involved in continuous improvement initiatives through our 5 Stars program (training provided).
  • Proactively identify and report safety hazards or incidents in line with company policies.
  • Understand production goals and contribute to improving efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Take part in regular team meetings, shift handovers, and communication forums.
  • Communicate issues, ideas, and opportunities to the Packaging Supervisor.
  • Participate in problem solving activities to support operational improvements.
  • Complete required induction training and actively pursue ongoing development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Vinarchy's Quality, Safety, and Environmental (QSE) standards
What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • Suited to working in manufacturing and production operations within a large-scale industrial environment
  • Effective literacy, numeracy and communication skills
  • Current Drivers Licence and ability to work shift work, weekends and complete reasonable overtime as required

Desirable:

  • Experience in Packaging or a FMCG production environment
  • Basic computer literacy (able to perform basic functions in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel and enter data in database applications)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
  • High Risk Work Licence (Forklift)
