Job summary

Henkel in Seven Hills, NSW, is seeking an Application Engineer to provide hands-on engineering and adhesive technology expertise across packaging applications. You will support customers, conduct trials and start-ups, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Travel interstate and occasionally internationally is expected. A strong engineering background and a proactive, detail-oriented approach are essential for improving process performance and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong technical curiosity and willingness to develop expertise in adhesive technologies.
• Hands-on, analytical and proactive problem-solving with attention to detail.
• Collaborative and customer-focused with ability to work across teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication translating technical info for diverse audiences.
• Experience or exposure to adhesives, coatings, packaging or manufacturing environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and application expertise to customers in the packaging industry.
• Troubleshoot and optimise adhesive performance for reliability and efficiency.
• Conduct customer trials, equipment start-ups and product testing in manufacturing environments.
• Develop and implement adhesive solutions across packaging and labelling applications.
• Collaborate with Sales and internal teams to meet customer needs with effective solutions.
• Analyse application performance and identify opportunities for process and cost improvements.
• Operate across lab and customer facilities with interstate and occasional international travel.
• Maintain safety, quality and documentation with digital reports and CRM updates.
