Job summary

Henkel in Seven Hills, NSW, is seeking an Application Engineer to provide hands-on engineering and adhesive technology expertise across packaging applications. You will support customers, conduct trials and start-ups, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Travel interstate and occasionally internationally is expected. A strong engineering background and a proactive, detail-oriented approach are essential for improving process performance and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong technical curiosity and willingness to develop expertise in adhesive technologies.
• Hands-on, analytical and proactive problem-solving with attention to detail.
• Collaborative and customer-focused with ability to work across teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication translating technical info for diverse audiences.
• Experience or exposure to adhesives, coatings, packaging or manufacturing environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About this Position

Join Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies business and play a key technical role supporting customers across the packaging industry. Based in Seven Hills, NSW, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on and technically curious Application Engineer to apply engineering expertise and adhesive technology to solve customer challenges, optimise manufacturing performance and deliver innovative solutions. Working across water-based, hotmelt and polyurethane adhesives, you’ll collaborate with customers and internal teams across a diverse range of packaging applications, with regular interstate and occasional international travel.

What You´ll Do

• Provide technical support and application expertise to customers across the packaging industry.
• Troubleshoot and optimise adhesive performance to improve reliability, quality and efficiency.
• Conduct customer trials, equipment start-ups and product testing in manufacturing environments.
• Develop and implement adhesive solutions across packaging, labelling, tissue and paper applications.
• Work with Sales and internal teams to understand customer needs and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Analyse application performance and identify opportunities for process and cost improvements.
• Work confidently across laboratory and customer manufacturing environments, with interstate and occasional international travel.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and documentation, using digital tools to prepare technical reports, presentations and CRM updates.
