Job summary

Anglo American in Queensland is seeking an organised Overhauls Coordinator to lead planning and execution of equipment overhauls at the Aquila Mine. You will manage end-to-end overhaul projects, coordinating Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and contractors to maximise asset reliability.

The role requires strong project management, technical maintenance knowledge, and a proactive approach to safety, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Trade or engineering qualification or equivalent technical background.
  • Formal project management qualification, e.g., Diploma of Project Management.
  • Experience in underground coal mining operations.
  • Experience with SAP or similar maintenance and project management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of overhaul projects from scoping through to execution and completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate major equipment overhauls, component changes-outs, and refurbishment programs.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reporting to site leadership.
  • Engage and manage internal stakeholders, OEMs, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance against safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise operational impact.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and ensure materials, components, and services are available to meet project timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overhaul processes, planning effectiveness, and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure all activities comply with site safety management systems, statutory obligations, and company standards.
  • Conduct post-overhaul reviews and capture lessons learned to improve future project outcomes.

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.



Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and driven Overhauls Coordinator to support the planning and execution of Development equipment overhauls at our Aquila Mine.



As our Overhauls Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end overhaul projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and contractors, you will coordinate complex shutdowns and equipment rebuilds that maximise asset reliability and operational performance.



The successful candidate will combine strong project management capability with technical maintenance knowledge to deliver successful outcomes across a diverse fleet of underground mining equipment.
