Aquila Mine, Middlemount, QLD, seeks a motivated Mine Technician – Development to support underground development work alongside engineers, surveyors and operators. You will help deliver development targets while upholding safety and statutory requirements.

Job description

Aquila Mine are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mine Technician - Development to provide technical support to our underground development team. Working closely with Mining Engineers, Surveyors, Geologists and Operations personnel, you will contribute to the successful delivery of development targets while ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

You will be responsible for, but not limited too:

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of underground mining equipment
• Maintaining a safe and productive mining environment
• Applying statutory obligations as required
• Operation of equipment to consistently deliver specified hourly targets
• Work proactively with on-shift peers to ensure a high level of safety & productivity to agreed standards & responsibilities
• Assist with maintenance activities as required
• Actively ensure all personal authorisations and competencies are maintained
• Uniformly applying Anglo American standards and procedures i.e. the mine Safety & Health Management System & Anglo Golden Rules.

Experience in an underground coal mining environment.

Strong technical, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

An understanding of mine planning, development processes and operational reporting.

Experience working with mine planning and reporting systems.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

A commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Relevant mining, engineering, survey or technical qualifications (desirable)

Based at Aquila Mine, Middlemount, QLD

• FIFO (salary sacrifice), DIDO or Residential (subsidised)
