Job summary

The City of Gold Coast invites applications for an Outreach Library Assistant to deliver library services across the Gold Coast. You will travel in our Library van and require a current C class driver licence.

Responsibilities include delivering items across a network of libraries, restocking kiosks, maintaining remote Little Libraries, and processing new and returned items. The role supports flexible arrangements, with a 9-day fortnight and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Emotional maturity and resilience for diverse customer base.
• Proficient with technology, including iPads, and quick to learn new software.
• Prioritise safety and follow WHS directions.
• Physically fit to load/unload up to 400 crates per day (up to 16 kg each).
• Hold a C class licence and be confident to drive a Toyota Hi-Ace van.

About the role

As an Outreach Library Assistant, you will be a key player in delivering library services to our customers across the Gold Coast.

You will be travelling through the Gold Coast in our Library van, so a current “C” class driver licence is essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• delivering library items and other resources across our network of libraries and Customer Service points
• re-stocking Library Kiosks
• maintaining remote Little Libraries
• processing new and returned library items

We’re looking for people who have:

• possess emotional maturity and resilience, with the ability to make meaningful connections with our diverse customer base
• are proficient with technology, including iPads, and able to quickly learn how to use new software applications
• prioritise safety and follow all WHS directions
• are physically fit and able to load and unload up to 400 crates per day (weighing up to 16kgs each)
• hold a “C” class licence and be confident to drive a Toyota Hi-Ace van
