City of Gold Coast is seeking an After Hours Operations Officer to support the Duty Officer team across 35 community centres. The role covers evening and weekend shifts, with up to 19 hours per week, primarily Thursday to Saturday, to ensure smooth visits and events.
You will mentor, roster, coach staff, manage bookings, and provide advanced AV support. A C Class licence is mandatory, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
The Community Centre team is made up of a group of diverse customer service professionals. We come from all types of industry backgrounds but share the same love and passion for making our communities great.
At our core we manage booking enquiries for over 35 community centres. It’s what happens within those rooms that makes the Gold Coast such a great place to live. Our customers provide regular weekly activities like yoga, martial arts and dance in 35 Community Centres from Ormeau to Coolangatta. Our customers hire our spaces to run everything from Karate and cake decorating classes, social functions and large-scale events with music and dancing! We’re also the place for auditorium events, hosting everything from theatrical performances to expos.
During the week, our team manage the administration of taking bookings and the operations/logistics on site. On the weekends and evenings, our casual team members are rostered to take care of our customer’s events and our buildings - that’s where this position will play a pivotal role.
Our After Hours Operations Officer will work alongside the Duty Supervisor, providing guidance and support to our casual Duty Officer team, hirers and community members, helping ensure every visit and event runs smoothly. With 35 community centres available for hire from 7am to 11pm, seven days a week.
This role will be up to 19 hours per week, predominately covering Thursday to Saturday based on business needs.
