Job summary

The Department of Health Tasmania seeks an Outpatient – Customer Service Officer, Appointment Scheduling Clerk to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, coordinate appointments, and collect and update patient information with accuracy.

You will maintain confidentiality, liaise with clinicians and staff, and support efficient outpatient reception under health information management policies across Tasmanian sites.

Qualifications

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
• Knowledge of patient information management systems or ability to learn quickly.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail with administrative processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical support to coordinate Outpatient reception services.
• Accurately collect, enter, and maintain patient information in systems.
• Adhere to clinical, financial, and administrative policies for HIMS.
• Liaise with patients, clinicians and colleagues with professionalism.
