Job summary

Foundry Talent Partners is seeking a Business Development Associate in Sydney to join the distribution team and drive engagement with the financial adviser channel. This is an outbound-heavy role, with most of your day spent on the phone building adviser relationships from day one.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a client-facing financial services role (funds, platforms, private wealth, adviser-facing sales support).
• Confident outbound phone work with resilience to turn a no into a conversation.
• Genuine interest in markets and investing, able to explain concepts credibly.
• Strong organisational discipline to manage high activity and a busy pipeline.
• Ambition to step up into a BDM role.
• CRM experience (Salesforce or similar) highly regarded.
• A tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, economics or related field.
• RG146 compliance preferred or willingness to complete it.

Responsibilities

• Running a high volume of outbound calls to financial advisers, paraplanners and research teams across practices.
• Prospecting and qualifying new adviser relationships, and booking meetings for the BDM team.
• Covering a segment of smaller or emerging adviser relationships directly by phone, building engagement and inflows.
• Following up webinars, roadshows, events and campaigns to turn interest into meetings and investment.
• Talking advisers through fund range, performance and investment thesis, and handling objections.
• Using CRM, platform flow and research data to target outreach and prioritise opportunities.
• Supporting the BDMs with meeting preparation and follow-up, and joining adviser meetings as you progress.
• Helping coordinate adviser events, PD sessions and roadshows.
