Job summary

St John’s Anglican College in Forest Lake, Brisbane, seeks a passionate Room Leader for the After and Before College Care (ABCC) and Vacation Care team. Qualifications

• Diploma in School Age Care or Early Childhood Education and Care as required by ACECQA.
• Completion or ability to complete CHCPRT025 Child Protection Training.
• Valid Blue Card and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrated relevant experience in school age care.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, implement and evaluate a developmentally appropriate programme for school-aged children.
• Collaborate with the team to support daily programme operations and room activities.
• Allocate weekly planning, reflection and programme improvement time.
• Provide individualised attention and emotional support to children.
• Act as Responsible Person in line with regulatory requirements and standards.
• Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment and manage potential hazards.
• Support curriculum planning through observation and assessment of play interactions.
• Greet families and communicate professionally to strengthen partnerships.
