Job summary

Diocese of Lismore Early Education and Care in Murwillumbah NSW is seeking an experienced leader to be the Nominated Supervisor for the OSHC service. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide strong operational and educational leadership, and build a capable team.

You will oversee program delivery aligned with My Time Our Place, safety and compliance across NQF, and collaborate with school, parish and families to support service growth.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification such as a Bachelor degree, Diploma or Certificate III in education or children's services, and/or substantial relevant experience.
• Experience managing an early childhood education and care service, preferably in OSHC, preschool or long day care.
• Demonstrated leadership experience as a Responsible Person, Educational Leader or in a comparable supervisory role.
• Thorough knowledge of the National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, child-safe standards, mandatory reporting obligations, Family Assistance Law and child protection requirements.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, administration, rostering and organisational skills.
• A commitment to respecting, supporting and upholding the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church through professional conduct.
• Availability to work broken shifts Monday to Friday during school terms.
• A current Working with Children Check clearance and satisfactory National Criminal History and Prohibited Persons checks.
• Current First Aid, CPR and Child Protection certifications.
• Completion of mandatory National Child Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall management, administration and ongoing sustainability of the OSHC service during term time and Vacation Care periods, where applicable.
• Promote a genuine culture of child safety, care and inclusion, ensuring high standards of supervision, wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Ensure the service operates in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard and organisational policies.
• Lead service improvement, self-assessment, programming and preparation for the assessment and rating process.
• Develop, support and manage educators through effective recruitment, induction, rostering, training, mentoring and performance management.
• Oversee an engaging educational program aligned with My Time, Our Place and responsive to children's interests, strengths and needs.
• Manage service records, enrolments, incidents, complaints, risk assessments, workplace health and safety requirements and regulatory notifications.
• Work collaboratively with school and parish leaders, families and community stakeholders to strengthen participation and promote service growth.
