Job summary

TeamKids is seeking a Second in Charge (2IC) for our OSHC service in Toowoomba. This part-time leadership role supports high-quality care before and after school under the Director of Service, ensuring engaging experiences for children and strong partnerships with families.

You will lead activities within a safe, compliant framework, fostering teamwork and delivering memorable moments for primary-aged children.

Qualifications

• Diploma qualification as per ACECQA standards.
• Experience in Before/After School Care preferred but not essential.
• National Child Safety Training required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Job Description

This permanent, part - time opportunity offers hands on experience in the OSHC industry. You'll be supported every step of the way by a Director of Service, ensuring you have everything you need to thrive in your role.

Service Location: Toowoomba

You’ll work across split shifts, Monday to Friday:

• Before School Care: 6:30 - 9:00am
• After School Care: 2:30 - 6:00pm
• Total: 30 hours

As the Second in Charge (2IC), you’ll be a key leader in delivering high-quality care and creating memorable experiences for the children in our service. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about childcare and leadership, ready to make a meaningful impact on the children, parents, and team.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the school community, attending events, assemblies.
• Assist with the creation and implementation of enriching experiences based on the preferences of the children in your program.
• Foster genuine relationships with children and their families.
• Play and have FUN with primary school aged children.
• Support with ensuring your program in compliance according to industry regulations.

The Successful Candidate:

• Ideally you have previous experience working in Before and After School Care or education, but this is by no means essential - we can train you!
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and still a big kid at heart!
• Confident communicator with children, parents, team members, and school principals.
• You’re a strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do, positive attitude.
• Passionate about creating enriching experiences for primary-aged children.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and love to have FUN!

• As part of TeamKids’ commitment to child safety, all successful candidates are required to complete mandatory National Child Safety Training through Geccko prior to commencing employment with TeamKids.
