Job summary

Junior Adventures Group in Rockhampton Region is hiring an OSHC Casual Educator I to support primary school children through play, balance supervision with engaging learning activities, and help families by providing reliable care before and after school.

This role offers flexible hours with morning and afternoon shifts, the chance to gain hands-on experience in teaching or childcare, and pathways toward coordinator roles as you grow with JAG.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly with children, parents and colleagues.
• Willingness to obtain police check and Working with Children check.
• Availability for at least 3 afternoon shifts per week.
• Passion for child development and safe, engaging activities.

Responsibilities

• Support children's development through play in OSHC sessions.

Pick up shifts across the services open hours:

• Morning Shift: 6:00am – 9:00am Monday - Friday (Rise then Shine Program)
• Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 6:00pm Monday - Friday (Stay and Play Program)

Who are we looking for?

While we’re happy to provide training and guidance in the role and sector, here are a few qualities we’re looking for:

• Desirable but not mandatory: Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 1 or 2Year QualifiedEducator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
• National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko).
• Must be available for at least 3 afternoon shifts per week
• A genuine love for working with children.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A team player with aspirations to take on leadership opportunities.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a national police check (which we will cover!) and a state working-with-children check.
• Must have valid Australian work rights.
