Job summary

Junior Adventures Group (JAG) is seeking an energetic team member to join the OSHC program at Helping Hands South Rock. You’ll help create engaging experiences for primary school children and work around a flexible timetable, including morning and afternoon shifts.

Training and guidance are provided, with a strong focus on child safety and supporting families. Ideal candidates enjoy working with children, have strong communication skills, and can commit to at least three afternoon shifts per

• Assist in delivering After School Care and Before School Care activities.

Pick up shifts across the services open hours:

• Morning Shift: 6:00am – 9:00am Monday - Friday (Rise then Shine Program)
• Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 6:00pm Monday - Friday (Stay and Play Program)

Helping Hands South Rock is a growing and welcoming service caring for approximately 40–50 children in Before School Care and 60–70 in After School Care, with capacity to grow to 105 children. The service operates from a spacious licensed hall with three dedicated rooms, a large kitchen and eating foyer, plus access to a grassed outdoor area, playgrounds, courts and oval.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

While we’re happy to provide training and guidance in the role and sector, here are a few qualities we’re looking for:

• Desirable but not mandatory: Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 1 or 2Year QualifiedEducatorin QLDin accordance with ACECQA
• National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko).
• Must be available for at least 3 afternoon shifts per week
• A genuine love for working with children.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A team player with aspirations to take on leadership opportunities.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a national police check (which we will cover!) and a state working-with-children check.
• Must have valid Australian work rights.
