Job summary

Southern Cross Care Queensland is seeking an experienced Organisational Capability Manager to lead learning, leadership development and workforce capability initiatives within our P&C team at the Support Centre in Brisbane.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will drive strategies, champion continuous learning, and partner with leaders to close capability gaps across geographically dispersed sites, while fostering a caring, not-for-profit culture that supports residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in organisational development, workforce capability or learning and development leadership.
• Strong experience in leadership development, talent development, coaching and succession planning.
• Ability to translate organisational objectives into meaningful capability strategies and initiatives.
• Proven people leadership skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong consultation, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
• Experience working across geographically dispersed teams or complex operational environments.
• Understanding of contemporary learning technologies, capability frameworks and development methodologies.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare or a similarly complex service environment will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of organisational learning and capability strategies aligned with SCCQ's priorities.
• Design and oversee leadership development, talent identification, succession planning and career pathway initiatives.
• Partner with operational leaders to identify capability gaps and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
• Lead and support a geographically dispersed learning and development function, including regional and site-based learning support arrangements.
• Oversee mandatory training, learning systems, compliance reporting and workforce development programs.
• Collaborate with the broader People & Culture team on organisational development, employee engagement and cultural initiatives.
• Oversee designated workforce development programs, including the PALM Scheme.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and capability initiatives to support continuous improvement and organisational performance.
