Job summary

Westfund Eye Care Services is seeking an Optical Retail Coordinator to coordinate merchandise, inventory, visual presentation and retail activities across the network, delivering a consistent member experience.

The role involves frame styling and dispensing support, stock planning, supplier liaison, online store tasks and regular travel to Eye Care Centres.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail buying, merchandising, inventory management or multi-site operations.
• Optical dispensing qualification or experience in optical/health retail.
• Knowledge of optical dispensing principles and frame styling.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills with stock control and pricing.
• Ability to build supplier relationships across multiple locations.
• Proficiency in inventory systems and Excel with reporting and organisation.
• Desirable qualification in retail management, business, commerce, or supply chain.
• Commitment to delivering an exceptional member experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate frame, sunglass and accessory ranges to meet member needs and commercial targets.
• Support stock planning, allocation, replenishment, transfers and aged-stock management.
• Monitor retail sales, inventory levels and product trends; provide reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate suppliers and brand representatives regarding product availability and promotions.
• Support visual merchandising, product presentation, and styling across centres and online channels.
• Provide on-the-ground retail, frame styling and dispensing support when needed within your scope.
• Assist with the online optical store including product setup, imagery and performance monitoring.

Job description

We are looking for a commercially minded, member-focused professional to join our Eye Care Services team as an Optical Retail Coordinator!

• Travel required to regional stores

About the role

As the Optical Retail Coordinator, you will support Westfund Eye Care Centres by coordinating merchandise, inventory, visual presentation and retail activities across the network. Working closely with Eye Care leaders and centre teams, you will help optimise product ranges and stock, strengthen merchandising standards, support suppliers and online retail activities, and deliver a consistent, high-quality member experience. You will also provide practical in-centre support with optical retail sales, frame styling and dispensing activities within your qualifications and scope of practice. Regular travel to Eye Care Centres will be required.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate frame, sunglass and accessory ranges to meet member needs, affordability objectives and commercial performance targets.
• Support stock planning, allocation, replenishment, transfers and aged-stock management across Eye Care Centres.
• Monitor retail sales, inventory levels, stock turn, product trends and member preferences, providing reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate suppliers and brand representatives regarding product availability, new releases and promotional opportunities.
• Support consistent visual merchandising, product presentation, seasonal campaigns and styling standards across centres and online channels.
• Provide on-the-ground retail, frame styling and dispensing support during periods of operational need, within qualifications and scope of practice.
• Assist with the online optical store, including product set-up, stock availability, imagery, merchandising and performance monitoring.
• Support onboarding and capability development in product knowledge, frame styling, merchandising and inventory practices.
• Promote safe work practices and comply with organisational policies and procedures.

Skills & experience

• Experience in retail buying, merchandising, inventory management or multi-site retail operations.
• Optical dispensing qualification or experience in optical, pharmacy, health retail or fashion eyewear is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of optical dispensing principles, lens products, frame styling and product recommendations.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, including stock control, aged-stock management, category planning and pricing.
• Ability to build supplier relationships, influence stakeholders and support teams across multiple locations.
• Proficiency in inventory systems and Microsoft Excel, with strong reporting and organisational skills.
• A relevant qualification in retail management, business, commerce, supply chain or inventory management is desirable.
