Job summary

1001 Optometry in Hornsby, NSW, is seeking a part-time Optical Dispenser / Optical Assistant to support customers through their eyewear journey, from greeting and styling through to dispensing and aftercare.

You will work closely with the store team and optometrists, providing a warm, high-end experience on the shop floor, and you will receive training to grow within our boutique network.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical retail is valued but training is provided for the right person.
• Ability to work on a busy shop floor and support the patient journey.

About the role

We are looking for a Retail Sales Assistant to join our Hornsby boutique. This is a part-time role on the shop floor, supporting patients and customers through their eyewear journey, from greeting and styling through to dispensing support and aftercare.

You will work closely with the store team and optometrists, and you will be part of a tight-knit store team that serves a diverse local community.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver a warm, high-end customer experience on the shop floor
• Assist with frame styling, sales and the full patient journey
• Support optometrists and the team with dispensing, collections and aftercareKeep the boutique presentation to 1001 standard
• Help with daily store operations, including stock, merchandising and admin
• Build relationships with returning patients and centre shoppers

About you

• Confident, motivated and comfortable on a busy shop floor
• A genuine interest in fashion, service and people
• Organised, reliable and able to work as part of a small team
• Happy to learn optical retail and our house brands
• Available for retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Mandarin and/or Cantonese speaking is an advantage
• Previous optical or specialty-retail experience is valued, but not required. We will provide training to the right person.
